The
Fiji Baseline Study is an ongoing project involving NAI'A and the
University of the South Pacific. Based on the premise that NAI'A's
divers are an intelligent resource that ought not be wasted, the study
utilizes the observations of NAI'A's crew and passengers to document
the life found at the various divesites. Rob maintains an extensive
database that includes every variable imaginable that may pertain
to the presence or lack thereof of the various creatures in the database.
As a very useful aside, this database provides the basis for an accurate
prediction of dive conditions based on variables such as current flow,
wave size, weather conditions, and the political situation in Afghanistan.
