WHAT'S NEW
The filming of the IMAX® film, MacGillivray Freeman's Coral Reef Adventure has been successfully completed and is due for release internationally in March 2003.
The IMAX® movie was not only filmed at NAI'A sites with the assistance and guidance from Rob & Cat but it also features NAI'A divemaster and "song-meister" Rusi Vulakoro as Michele Hall's on-camera dive buddy. Rusi, flushed with a new enthusiasm for diving following his starring role, has rejoined the NAI'A crew as a dive guide alongside dive team-mate Richard Tanu.

HOWARD HALL PRODUCTION EXPEDITIONS
Howard is so impressed with Fiji's reefs and NAI'A facilities, he will begin filming his first High Definition Video production here with two expeditions aboard NAI'A. Passengers accompanying Howard and Michele will have an opportunity to watch them at work and help in scouting for animal behavior sequences. The Hall's will also offer slide shows about film production and marine life. In addition, they will show video versions of their films and offer discussion on production and editing.

In May we had a fantastic two-week trip with special guest host Stan Waterman. We made the most of having experienced divers and old friends like Kandy Kendall aboard to explore the Yasawa chain of islands and the western-most side of Bligh Water before moving into our much-adored regular route. Mike Neumann of the Thailand-based live-aboard, Pelagian, joined NAI'A for 3 charters this year - two here in Fiji and one in Tonga. He summed up the Stan's charter perfectly with these few simple words, "A fabulous trip."
We have had many requests over the years to offer extended Fiji exploratory charters. In 2002 we will have 2 two-week charters which will visit some of our favorite sites and then go further afield to seek new dive sites in areas beyond the reach of our usual Fiji charter itineraries.

NAI'A is currently in Nikumororo in the Phoenix Islands of Kirabati, supporting the crew of The International Group for Historic Aircraft Recovery (TIGHAR) as they search for evidence of the lost Amelia Earhart. This is the third TIGHAR expedition aboard NAI'A to the area. TIGHAR researchers believe they can prove conclusively that Earhart and her navigator, Fred Noonan, landed successfully on this tiny atoll where they likely perished after rescue attempts failed to locate them. While we can not disclose their findings, we will say that NAI'A enjoyed the company of a whale shark for 3 days while at anchor. Keep an eye out for more exciting details to surface!
>>For full details about TIGHAR's fascinating Amelia Earhart theory and their scientific and archaeological research, see www.tighar.org.
Our guests know first-hand the benefits of diving with NAI'A. We are proud of the fact that a large majority of our guests return again and again and often refer us to dive buddies. We value your positive comments that send your diving friends our way. To say "Vinaka Vakalevu" we will give you a $200 credit towards your next NAI'A charter if a new guest mentions your name when booking a dive charter.
