At Montreal's EXPO '67 I tried scuba and first got excited about photography. But career and family came first until 1987 when I became a certified diver and started taking underwater photographs.

Coral reefs are magical places - the fish capture the imagination first and then the immense variety of corals, colors, shapes and textures. I have forced myself to slow down and seek out the more remarkably well-camouflaged invertebrates. The reward is worth the wait!

The friendly people and diverse cultures of the Indo-Pacific make it my favorite place. I especially enjoy the ambiance of NAI'A and Fiji where guests feel welcome and appreciated. It's a treat to return and a regret to depart.

Retired now, I spend much more time travelling, diving and making pictures. Digital printmaking is cutting edge technology involving hardware, software, new inks and papers. It is a wonderfully creative opportunity. E-mail me at freddrury@compuserve.com if you are interested in my work. I'll be setting up a showcase website very soon.
